About Empress​

Empress Acupuncture is a Chinese medicine clinic in Upper Ferntree Gully. We are located on Burwood Highway, directly opposite the Dandenong Ranges National Park. We see patients from across Melbourne, and a lot of them come to us with complex, chronic or multi-layered health histories. We take the time to work those cases out properly.

The rooms are light-filled and designed with Feng Shui principles. We have a fully stocked herbal dispensary, remote reception and admin support, and good visibility on a main road with easy access from the hills and the eastern suburbs.

​Who we are looking for:

​

Chinese medicine is your thing. You love going down the rabbit holes and talking theory with anyone who’ll listen. This helps you work out how to bring it into the treatment room. You walk your talk, too. It’s part of your own life, you know how well it works because you live it.

Complicated cases don’t put you off. You want to get to the bottom of them, you write proper treatment plans and see them through. Clear procedures help you do your best work, and you want to have the ability to contribute to the way things are done. If you see there is a way to make something better, we want to hear it.

Your patients know you’re on their side. You listen properly, explain things clearly and make decisions with them, not for them. When it’s best for the patient, you can offer collaborative care to help your patients engage with conventional healthcare in a way that really makes a difference. You’ll go in to bat for your patients when needed and you know how to bring some lightness into a hard appointment.

You’re building a name for yourself. The right clinic can help with that, and you know what you have to offer adds to the clinic’s reputation in return. Marketing doesn’t scare you; it’s part of the job.

The people you work with are important to you. You want a team you respect, in a clinic you’re proud of, where feedback goes both ways and there’s always room to grow.

What you’ll get:

​

Clinical mentoring: Regular practitioner-to-practitioner support with cases, herbal prescriptions, treatment planning and complex histories. New grad or ten years in, you’ll have someone experienced to talk things through with.

​

Coaching and goal setting: Up to three one-on-one coaching sessions on what you need most, whether that’s clinical confidence, patient communication or building your patient base. We’ll set goals together and check in on them.

​

A stable base: Systems that work, admin taken care of, a dispensary on site, and an established clinic behind you while you build your own reputation.

​

What you’ll need

• Qualifications in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine

• Current AHPRA registration, professional indemnity insurance and membership of a recognised association

• Availability for multiple days a week

• A desire to be fully booked, and the drive to get there

• Commitment to ongoing learning

• Openness to regular mentoring, goal setting and feedback
